My name is Heather Yandell. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Emerging Media and Digital Arts at Southern Oregon University.
My name is Heather. I am a creative. I express myself through drawings, graphic design, and beaded jewelry. I help others express themselves as well through the use of color, text and imagery. I am located in Medford, Oregon and have been operating as hydesignsolutions since 2020.
I design patterns, which can be used for textiles, graphic design elements, and any number of products. I do design consulting, helping you create a brand that best reflects your image. I also review websites and social media sites, providing detailed feedback on what works and what doesn't work to help you optimize your digital presence. I am a certified Adobe Applications Technician and am proficient in InDesign and Illustrator, to name a few.
I am the mother of two beautiful young adults. My son, age 21, has two children of his own. My daughter, age 18, is my "mini me" through and through. I was born in Eugene, Oregon to Delbert Hodges (Del Hodges Sculpture) and M. Constance Guardino, a writer and historian. I grew up in Eddyville, Oregon, nestled away in the Big Elk Valley, located between Corvallis and Toledo.
I graduated from Toledo High School in 1989 at the age of 16 and went on to the University of Oregon in Eugene, where I earned my first bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy, graduating in 1994 at the age of 21. While at U of O I took up drawing in my free time, developing an idea for adult coloring books.
After graduating I married my first husband in November 1994 and spent the next 20 years trying to get back to school. I married my second husband in 2005, two years after the birth of my daughter. By this time I was living in Medford, Oregon. I returned to school finally in 2016, attending classes at Rogue Community College. In 2017 I moved to California for a few years, where I met my third (and final) husband. I was able to continue with school via online courses while in California. We returned to Oregon in 2019 so I could attend classes in person, but that was cut short in 2020 when COVID-19 drove everyone home. My husband and I were married in February, right before the first onset.
Thanks to the technological advances of the day, I was able to finish school in spite of the pandemic, graduating with dual associate's degrees in 2021. From there, I transferred to Southern Oregon University where I am currently working on my second bachelor's degree in Emerging Media and Digital Arts. It is my plan to continue on at SOU and get my master's in Interdisciplinary Studies.
